Run for MI Life Fun Run MACKAY
Run for MI Life Fun Run MACKAY is a community fundraising event on 18 October 2026 at the Western Suburbs Leagues Club in Walkerston, Queensland. The event is held in memory of a local person who died by suicide and aims to change the perception of depression and suicide in the community.
The event has run since 2014 in multiple locations and has raised close to A$500,000 to fund local mental health programs, training courses and initiatives that promote wellbeing and community support. Funds raised remain in the local area to support those programs.
On-site options include organised fun runs and walks with age related discounts for high school students, children and infants. A virtual run option is offered for any distance between 1 October and 18 October 2026 for a set entry fee. Race pack collection takes place from St Johns School Hall in Walkerston on 17 October 2026. Local road closures will be in place during the event and event staff will manage participant flows; dogs, walkers, prams and scooters are directed to the back of groups during starts.
