Run For Heroes 5K Run/Walk
The Run For Heroes is a community 5K run and walk held in Setauket. The course starts and finishes at Jeffrey Lane and Main Street. Parking is available at Setauket Elementary School, 134 Main Street, and bib pickup is handled at the Setauket Fire Department, 190 Main Street. Registration is not yet open.
Event amenities include a personalized bib for those registered three weeks in advance, a 50/50 raffle, post-run refreshments, and food trucks for purchase after the event. T-shirts are provided to the first 150 pre-registered runners; registration by August 14 guaranteed a shirt. Live online and email text results are available, along with free video and same-day finish line photos. Miscellaneous photos are also shared on social media.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers, the top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups (14 and under; 15–19; 20–29; 30–39; 40–49; 50–59; 60–69; 70–79; 80+), and the top three male and female first responders, who are eligible for all awards. Top overall finishers and top first responder finishers receive a pair of Saucony performance sneakers valued at $150, and six additional pairs will be raffled to registered participants.
Early and day-of bib pickup options are offered. Proceeds benefit the Setauket Fire Department and the Three Village 9/11 Memorial. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
