Event
The Run for the House is a family-focused running event held at Sam Houston Park in Houston, TX (1000 Bagby, 77002). The event features a USATF-certified 5K and non-competitive 1 Miler. Registered participants receive a race shirt, finisher medal, and a swag bag. An after party at Sam Houston Park follows the running events, with activities such as a photo opportunity with Santa, crafts, games, food and drinks, and awards.

The event supports Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Houston. RMHC Greater Houston was founded in 1978 and provides free lodging, meals, and support to families with seriously ill children treated at Texas Medical Center institutions. RMHC Greater Houston operates multiple Houses with bedroom capacity: Holcombe House (70 bedrooms), Texas Children's Hospital (19 bedrooms), Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital (20 bedrooms), and MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital (2 bedrooms).
