Run for the House - Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Houston 5K and Kids 1 Miler
The event on December 5, 2026 takes place at Sam Houston Park in Houston, Texas. It features a USATF certified 5K that is timed and multiple untimed 1 Miler options for children and adults. Registered participants receive a race shirt, a finisher medal, and a swag bag.
After the races there is an on site after party at Sam Houston Park with activities that include a selfie with Santa, crafts, games, food and drinks, and awards. Proceeds support Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Houston, which provides a home away from home for families with children receiving care in the Texas Medical Center. The organization operates multiple Houses with bedroom capacity listed for Holcombe House, Texas Children’s Hospital, Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, and MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital, and it also runs a CareMobile offering immunizations and well checks for school aged children.
