Event Overview
The event is the 5th Annual 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' 5K/10K in Houston. It takes place on Saturday, December 5th. The event includes a 10K run/walk, a 5K run/walk, and an untimed Snoopy Kids Dash for children 12 and under. All events are held at the Addicks Park and Ride location in the Energy Corridor district, right off Interstate 10.
Course and Location
The course is described as flat and fast, using an out-and-back route on Park Row Drive. All distances start and finish at the Addicks Park and Ride. The location is noted as a short drive from the Houston Inner Loop and Katy areas. The parking lot has accessible parking, including handicap parking, with two entry points. Street closures for the event may affect access from Park Row Drive after a certain time.
Participant Information
Registration is limited to the first 2,000 participants. All participants receive an officially licensed Peanuts finisher medal (a snow globe), a performance blend t-shirt, and a participant bib. The 5K and 10K events are chip-timed using an RFID tag on the bib. Strollers and walkers are welcome but are asked to start at the back of the corral. The event has a 120-minute finish time limit.
Additional Activities
A post-race hospitality area offers refreshments. There is an appearance by Santa. The event partners with Memorial Assistance Ministries for a toy donation drive on race day, collecting new toys for their 'Christmas Share' program. Race photos are provided by a professional service. Awards are given for fastest overall male and female finishers and for first place in various age groups.
