Run for Dad

Run for Dad is an American Cancer Society community event to raise funds and build awareness about prostate cancer. The event is scheduled for September 26, 2026 at Mercer County Park Festival Grounds - West Picnic Area in West Windsor Township, New Jersey. The date was moved to September to align with Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

The event program includes multiple participation options:

• 5K (3.1 miles)
• 2-mile walk
• Virtual 5K
• Prostate cancer survivor entry
• Kids Run for small children

Registration opens December 30, 2025. In-person registration for the 5K and 2-mile walk closes March 30, 2026. Virtual and survivor registrations remain open through September 26, 2026. Posted registration fees are $45 for the 5K, $40 for the 2-mile walk, $40 for the virtual 5K, and $30 for the survivor entry.

More than 1,000 participants attend the event. The event materials include statistics about prostate cancer: in 2023 roughly 228,800 men in the US were diagnosed and over 27,500 died from the disease; about one man in seven will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime. New Jersey has a high incidence per capita. Incidence among African American men is reported as roughly 60% higher than among white or Asian men. Early detection is associated with a near 100% five-year survival rate and 93% ten-year survival in diagnosed men. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
