Helene Cody Cranbury 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run
The Helene Cody Cranbury event includes a chip-timed 5K and a 1 Mile Fun Run held at Heritage Park in Cranbury. The event serves as the major fundraiser for the Helene Cody Foundation and supports youth-led community service projects and scholarships through a 501(c)(3) organization.
The 1 Mile Fun Run is run entirely inside Heritage Park as two loops; all finishers receive a medal. The 5K is a USATF certified course that is described as flat and fast, passing through shaded parks and neighborhood streets and offering a water station that participants pass twice. Walkers and strollers are welcome, and the average 5K finish time is reported to be around 28:00.
Packet pickup is organized at local businesses prior to race day, with race day pickup available at Heritage Park. Roads in the race area are closed during the event; designated free parking and overflow lots are listed in Cranbury, and some street parking is available. Awards include trophies, plaques for top local finishers, and age-group prizes for top finishers across a wide range of age categories.
