Event Overview
The Run For Casey 5K is a run and walk event scheduled for a Saturday in May at Nomahegan Park in Cranford, New Jersey. This is the fourth annual edition of the event. The primary goal of the event is to benefit the Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) Foundation. All proceeds support the foundation's mission to promote awareness, fund research, and assist affected families, as the cause receives no public funding.
Course and Events
The main event is a chip-timed 5K run/walk on a scenic, flat loop course within Nomahegan Park. A water station is provided around the halfway point.
A separate 1 Mile fun run is offered for children aged 10 and under. A kids corner with face painting, crafts, and raffles will also be available.
A virtual 5K option is offered for participants who cannot attend in person.
Registration and Amenities
Registration pricing for the in-person 5K follows an early bird structure. Race t-shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by a specified date in April. Medals and prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in all age categories for the chip-timed 5K.
