Event Overview
The Run For Casey 5K is an annual event held at Nomahegan Park in Cranford, New Jersey. This event benefits the Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) Foundation, raising funds to support awareness, research, and services for families affected by SUDC. The race is held in memory of Casey Young.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 5K Adults (Chip timed)
- 1 Mile Fun Run for kids age 10 and under
- 5K Virtual Run
The 5K route consists of a scenic and flat loop through Nomahegan Park. A water station is available for participants at approximately the halfway point of the course. For those participating in the timed adult event, the race uses electronic chip timing. Medals and prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in all age categories.
In addition to the running events, the venue features a kids corner with various activities including face painting, crafts, and raffles. Registered participants who sign up by the mid-April deadline are guaranteed a race t-shirt.
