Run Duck Run Duathlon
Run Duck Run is the third annual run paddle run 10K held at Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill, Tennessee. The event route is composed of a 1.5 mile run on a rubberized greenway, a 2 mile paddle on the Duck River, a 2 mile trail run, and a final 0.5 mile road run. The course includes grass, rubberized greenway, pavement, and trail surfaces.
There are entry options that include a park provided kayak or bringing a personal kayak. The park provided kayaks are Jackson Kayaks approximately 10 feet long. Life jackets are provided for park kayaks and life jackets are required for all participants. Participants must be proficient at kayaking on Class 1 water. Aid stations are located at each river access before and after the paddle segment.
All participants receive event items including a t shirt, finisher medal, post race drink, and a snack. The event enforces a 3 hour time limit and park rangers will conduct a course sweep. The duathlon takes place during the Duck River Outdoor Expo, a multi day event on July 10 through July 12, 2026, which includes exhibits and presentations related to local wildlife and conservation.
