Faster For Foster Trail Run
This event is the third annual trail race benefiting New To You, Inc., a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports foster children in middle Tennessee. One hundred percent of race proceeds will go directly to helping foster children. Foster children and foster families are eligible for free entry; registration relies on an honor system.
Both races take place on the trails at Preservation Park in Thompson's Station, TN. The 10K route follows the 5K course twice.
- 5K, single loop on marked trails.
- 10K, two loops of the 5K course.
The course is marked with orange or pink flags. The opening miles are grass or gravel jeep road with wide trails and a short out-and-back section near mile 1.25 to 1.75. A turnaround and water stop are located around mile 1.5. The middle section includes a short hill and a narrower trail called the Depot Trail. The final mile is technical trail with rocks and roots; runners should be prepared for narrow, uneven footing. Traffic may thin on single-track sections; runners are asked to announce passes and yield when appropriate. Dogs are permitted but must be leashed.
Parking is in the gravel lot at the main entrance. The pavilion inside the fence serves as packet pick up and the finish area. Bathrooms are approximately 0.15 mile from the parking lot. Awards are given for overall top finishers and age-group placings, and a K9 award is included. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
