About the race
Run 4 The Parks is a one-day event held in Big Springs Park in downtown Springville, Alabama. The event presents four separate races and activities located at or inside the park, plus vendors, food trucks, inflatables, and splash pad access for participants wearing race wristbands.
Distances and event types:
- 5K run through downtown Springville beginning and ending at Big Springs Park.
- Adventure Obstacle Run estimated at 500 yards through the upper pond walking track with obstacles.
- Color Fun Run estimated at 1/4 mile around the upper pond walking track; registration includes a shirt.
- Rubber Ducky Run a rubber duck race conducted in the creek at Big Springs Park.
The 5K is chip timed by Trak Shak. 5K registration includes a commemorative shirt and a race bag containing a race shirt, race bib, pens, and other items inside a souvenir bag. Water stations are provided along the 5K course and at the finish. Winners in the 5K, the Color Run, and the obstacle course receive medals. The 5K awards include medals for overall male and overall female winners and age division awards for 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and above, plus an overall 19 and under category.
Proceeds from the 5K are designated for park improvements. All races are planned to proceed rain or shine; refunds are not available if the event is canceled due to severe weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
