15th Annual Run 4 Brighter Days 5K
The Run 4 Brighter Days 5K is an annual event held at Lynches River County Park in Coward, South Carolina. The race serves to raise awareness and support for brain health and teenage suicide prevention, with proceeds benefiting the Jonathan C. Smith Foundation. This organization focuses on education, advocacy, and mentorship for at-risk youth.
The event features several participation options:
- R4BD- Run/Walk 5k: A 3.1-mile course for participants to run or walk.
- R4BD- Kids Run: A fun run specifically for children aged 10 and under.
- R4BD - Virtual 5k: An option for remote participants to complete the distance from any location.
All registered participants receive a race shirt and a finisher's medal. For those participating in the virtual event, these items are sent by mail following the race.
Awards are presented in various categories for the in-person 5K. Recognition is given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as winners in the Masters (40+) and Grand Masters (50+) divisions. Additionally, the top three male and female runners are recognized across multiple age groups, ranging from 12 and under to 70 and older.
