Run 4 Brighter Days 5K
The Run 4 Brighter Days is an annual event held at Lynches River County Park in Coward, South Carolina. The 15th edition of this event takes place during National Suicide Prevention Month to support brain health education and teenage suicide prevention. Proceeds from the event benefit the Jonathan C. Smith Foundation.
Participants can choose from the following event options:
- 5K Run/Walk: An in-person 5 km race for runners and walkers.
- Virtual 5K: A remote participation option where entrants receive a t-shirt and medal by mail.
- Kids Run: A dedicated race for children aged 10 and under.
The event is part of the Pee Dee Grand Prix. On-site facilities and entertainment include the Environmental Discovery Center, which features interactive exhibits, live displays, and a tree top canopy walk. Strollers are permitted on the course, and participants are allowed to listen to music while running. Pets are welcome provided they are friendly and kept on a leash.
The race is scheduled to take place rain or shine. In the event of unsafe weather conditions, the organizers will reschedule the activities. Participants aged 10 and under receive a t-shirt and a medal at no cost. Registration for the in-person 5K is available in advance or on the day of the event.
