About the race
2026 Rudolph’s Race offers two distances that run on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path in the Georgetown area. Both courses are out-and-back on a light gravel trail with minimal elevation change. The half marathon starts and ends in Georgetown near the Potomac Boat Club while the 5k starts and ends at Fletcher’s Boathouse.
- Half marathon
- 5k
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri-fit) event shirt, and chip timing. The half marathon has a 3 hour 15 minute completion time limit. There are seven water stations on the half marathon course at approximate mile markers 1.55, 3.8, 4.3, 6.55, 8.8, 9.3 and 11.55; the 5k has one water station at about mile 1.55. Gatorade is available at some stations. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person.
Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, Endurance, Back of the Pack Series, and the Fall Series. Live race results will be posted on Athlinks and via a QR code at the race; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the event. Packet pickup is available at the event. There is no on-site race registration and no official bag check; items may be left at the timing table but organizers are not responsible for valuables.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in standard age divisions; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
