Event Overview
The Rubik's Cube event returns to Denton, Texas, for its second annual edition at North Lakes Park. This puzzle-themed running event offers several course options and distances to accommodate different preferences. The race utilizes gun timing, and competitive participants are encouraged to position themselves at the front of the starting group.
Distances and Course Information
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- 15K - A timed three-lap course.
- 10K - A timed two-lap course.
- 5K - A timed single-lap course.
- 1 Mile - An untimed option for those seeking a shorter distance.
- Kid's Dash - A 100-200 meter sprint for children.
For those unable to attend in person, a virtual race option is available, where registration includes the shipment of event materials.
Awards and Recognition
Timed participants in the 5K, 10K, and 15K categories are eligible for age group awards, which are distributed four deep across divisions ranging from ages 0-4 to 80+. Overall male and female winners are also recognized. Finisher medals are provided for the 15K, 10K, 5K, and 1 Mile events. Awards must be collected on-site at the event, as they are not shipped afterward.

Registration includes an event-themed participation t-shirt and a finisher medal for qualifying distances. Run Different, the event organizer, supports charitable causes by donating a portion of profits and all direct donations to Autism Speaks.
