Rubble Creek Classic
The Rubble Creek Classic is a mountain trail race held on 13 September 2026 that travels through Garibaldi Provincial Park. The course distance is 25 km with an ascent of 1080 m and a descent of 1353 m. The start line is at Cheakamus Car Park and the finish line is at Rubble Creek Car park. Entry is limited to 100 racers and the 2026 edition is sold out.
The route climbs the switchbacks on the Cheakamus Lake trail, crosses the meadows of Taylor Creek, passes the volcanic landmark Black Tusk and descends toward the shores of Garibaldi Lake. The event traces well visited trails within Garibaldi Park.
The race is entirely self supported with no aid stations; a sweep will clear the route and first aid is provided on course and at the start and finish. Poles are allowed. Organizers use two mandatory kit lists depending on weather. For good weather the list includes a pack or vest, a windproof jacket, 1 L water capacity and 400 kcal; for bad weather the list adds a waterproof hooded jacket and an emergency blanket. The required kit will be confirmed about five days before the race and checked on race morning.
Logistics notes: there is no parking at the Cheakamus start, finish parking is very limited, and shuttle seats must be prebooked by July 31. Small sealed start/finish bag transfer is provided.
