Rubble Creek Classic

The Rubble Creek Classic is a historic trail race near Whistler with a heritage dating back to 1985. The event takes place within Garibaldi Provincial Park, one of the most scenic protected areas in British Columbia. The route traverses diverse landscapes, including the flower-filled meadows of Taylor Creek, and passes landmarks such as the volcanic Black Tusk and the shores of Garibaldi Lake.

The event features a single point-to-point distance:

  • 25 km with 1080 m of ascent and 1353 m of descent.

The course begins with the switchbacks of the Cheakamus Lake trail. This race is 100% self-supported, meaning there are no aid stations along the route. Participants are required to carry their own supplies and adhere to a mandatory gear list that is adjusted based on weather forecasts. Required items include a water capacity of one liter and specific clothing layers.

The start line is located at the Cheakamus Car Park and the finish line is at the Rubble Creek Car Park. Parking is strictly prohibited at the start line; participants must either use a pre-booked shuttle service or be dropped off at a designated point 1 km from the start. A bag transfer service is provided to move small personal items from the start to the finish line. Registration is limited to 100 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
