RRCA Women's Distance Festival 5K and Kids Run
The RRCA Women's Distance Festival 5K and Kids Run takes place in Binghamton, New York, at Otsiningo Park. This event is sponsored by the Triple Cities Runners Club and features a 5K course that is certified (NY13006JG), flat, and scenic. The route follows paved trails and is partly shaded. Both runners and walkers are welcome to participate.
The event includes two main distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1/4 Mile Kids Run
The 5K race is chip-timed by Falcon Timing, with the start and finish lines located at the North Shelter. Following the main event, a free Kids Run is held for children aged 10 and under. Participants in the youth event are required to wear sneakers and receive a prize for completing the approximately 1/4 mile distance.
Awards are presented to the top three overall finishers and Masters, as well as three deep in specific age groups ranging from 13 and under to 70 and over. Specialized recognition includes a "Middle of the Pack" award and a "Fastest First Timer" award for those completing their first ever 5K. Team awards are also available for pairs such as Mother/Daughter, Sister/Sister, and Grandmother/Granddaughter. Participants who pre-register by the specified deadline receive a ladies' tech T-shirt.
