About the race
The Blueberry Hill 5K and Newberry Fun Run take place on August 8, 2026 in Montrose, Pennsylvania, at 18 Monument Street and on the Village Green during the Blueberry Festival. The event supports the Susquehanna Historical Society and the Free Library Association; all festival proceeds benefit these organizations. Distances: - *5K* timed race, registration fee $30.00 - *Newberry Fun Run* untimed, no registration fee Registration opens April 15, 2026 and closes August 7, 2026. All participants for both events must sign a waiver.
Runners who pre-register by July 19 will receive an event T-shirt; those who register later may receive a T-shirt if supplies remain. The 5K awards medals to the top three male and top three female finishers in each age group: 12 & Under, 13-18, 19-30, 31-49, and 50+. Cash prizes are given to the top three overall male and female finishers: $100 for first, $75 for second, and $50 for third. A school award category uses team scoring similar to high school cross country. Eligible participants identify an affiliated school during registration.
Scoring uses the top five male and top five female times per school. Cash awards are provided to the top three schools and to the school with the most participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
