Event Overview
The Blueberry Hill 5K & Newberry Fun Run is part of the annual Blueberry Festival in Montrose, Pennsylvania. The event takes place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, and all proceeds benefit the Susquehanna Historical Society & Free Library Association.
Race Details
The event consists of two separate activities:
- Blueberry Hill 5K: A timed race with registration costing $30.
- Newberry Fun Run: A non-timed fun run that is free to enter.
Registration for both events opens on April 15, 2026. The race courses go through the streets of Montrose. Participants who register for the 5K or Fun Run by July 19, 2026, will receive an event T-shirt, subject to availability.
Awards and Competition
For the timed 5K, medals are awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers in each of five age groups: 12 & Under, 13-18, 19-30, 31-49, and 50+. Cash prizes are also given to the top three overall male and female finishers.
A school award category is also offered. Participants can affiliate with a school district during registration. Cash awards are given to the top three scoring schools and to the school with the most registered participants, with the funds directed to the school's running program.

The event is based at 18 Monument Street on the Village Green in Montrose, PA. The Blueberry Festival features family-friendly events all day, including a breakfast tent with blueberry pancakes and a pie-eating contest in the afternoon.
