Royals Run 10K/5K/1K Run/Walk
The Royals Run is a multi-distance run and walk held at Burke Lake Park and organized by NOVA Royals Athletic Club, a 501(c)(3) soccer club. Proceeds support the Organization for Autism Research, Upability Foundation, and NOVA Royals Athletic Club, which provides low-cost soccer programs and youth development.
Event distances include:
- 10K - 6.2 mile wooded trail that circles the lake.
- 5K - 3.1 mile course that follows a tree lined paved road through the park.
- 1K - short course for children ages 4 to 10.
Amenities and services listed for participants include a commemorative finisher medal, live results by web/text/email, free finish line photos and same-day video, and personalized bibs for those registered three weeks in advance. Awards are given to the top three overall men and women in the 10K and 5K, and to the top three in three age groups (29 & under, 30-49, 50+) for those distances regardless of gender.
Packet pickup options include an early pickup at Road Runner Sports in Falls Church, VA (1118 W Broad St), and race-day pickup from event staff. Last-minute registrants may receive a bib number by text shortly after registering.
Sponsorship levels start at $500; in-kind donations such as bottled water, fruit, energy bars, or sports massage are also accepted. Volunteer opportunities are open to those age 16 and older.
