Round the Rock : Jersey coastal trail races
Round the Rock is a set of coastal trail races around Jersey with three distance options. The routes use coastal paths, woodland and road sections and include narrow, technical and exposed cliff paths in places. The course is marked at junctions and decision points only; long straight sections may be unmarked so runners are expected to carry the route on a device.
Distances
- Ultra: 48 miles / 77 km
- Marathon: 26.2 miles / 42.2 km
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles / 21.1 km
Aid stations appear roughly every 8–10 miles and provide water and basic food items. The event is cupless so participants must carry a cup or bottle. Drop bags are available for the Ultra to the halfway checkpoint at Les Fontaines and for marathon and half marathon runners to the finish; size and weight limits apply.
The Ultra has an overall time limit and a mandatory halfway cut-off at Les Fontaines. Medals and official finishes are awarded only to runners who complete the course inside the limits. The event is solo only: no pacers, no crewing and no outside assistance.
Mandatory kit applies to all distances and may be checked. Required items include a way to carry kit, warm layer, hat and gloves, whistle, compass, trail shoes, foil survival blanket, small first aid kit, a charged phone with what3words, a 1000 ml drinking system or equivalent, and GPS with the route loaded.
