Round the Rock - Jersey
Round the Rock is a trail running event on the island of Jersey offering three distances. The 2026 edition of the Ultra, Marathon and Half Marathon is sold out; entries for 2027 are available.
- Ultra marathon
- Marathon
- Half marathon
The course uses coastal paths, woodland trails and public roads. Marking is limited to junctions and decision points; long straight sections may have no markers. Organisers publish GPX files for each route so runners should carry the route on a watch or phone and ensure adequate battery. Aid stations are placed roughly every 8 to 10 miles and provide basic fluids and food; the event operates without single-use cups so competitors must carry a cup or bottle. CP1 offers water only.
The Ultra has an overall time limit and a mandatory halfway cut-off at Les Fontaines; runners who miss cut-offs are withdrawn. Marathon and Half have no intermediate cut-offs but are subject to an overall course close; medals and official finishes are awarded only to those finishing within the event limits.
The event is self-sufficient: no pacers, no crewing and no outside assistance. Mandatory kit applies to all distances and may be checked; required items include a suitable rucksack, warm layer, hat, gloves, whistle, compass, trail shoes with grip, survival blanket, small first-aid kit, a drinking system of at least 1 litre or a cup, food for between aid stations, and a charged phone with navigation capability. Paths can be narrow and exposed; runners should take care and follow marshal instructions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
