About the race
The Hamilton City Council 12km course is one of the race options at Round the Bridges on Sunday 15 November 2026. The 12 kilometre route starts on Victoria Street in the central business district, follows Victoria Street north, drops to the river path at Rostrevor Street, crosses Fairfield Bridge, continues south along River Road, passes through Hamilton Gardens and crosses Cobham Bridge before returning along the river to the finish on Victoria Street near Garden Place.
The event offers multiple participation distances:

- Kids Challenge
All 6 km and 12 km participants line up together on both sides of Victoria Street and start at the same time. The minimum participant age is 5 years. Entrants aged 5 to 12 must be accompanied for the entire event by an adult known to them, with that adult taking full responsibility for the child. Participants older than 12 may complete the course without an accompanying adult.
Prizes include two trophies for first place finishers The Allan Bloore and Donald Miller Trophy for males and The Tinkler Shield for females along with merit prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers. The event provides race information on start zones and race day procedures, and includes options for teams through a corporate team challenge and resources for bib collection, training and fundraising.
