About the race
The event on Sunday 15 November 2026 offers multiple course options in Hamilton, with routes that follow the Waikato River and pass local landmarks. The full Hamilton City Council 12km course starts from Victoria Street in the CBD, follows Victoria Street north, drops to the river path at Rostrevor Street, crosses Fairfield Bridge, follows River Road south, runs through Hamilton Gardens, crosses Cobham Bridge, and returns along the river to finish on Victoria Street.

All 6km and 12km participants line up on both sides of Victoria Street and start at the same time. Minimum entry age is 5 years; participants aged 5 to 12 must be accompanied for the entire event by an adult known to them, with that adult taking responsibility for the child’s safety. Participants over 12 years may complete the course unaccompanied.
The event recognises top finishers: two trophies are awarded to first-place male and female finishers, and merit prizes go to the top three overall male and female finishers.
