Hamilton Gardens Trail
The Hamilton Gardens Trail takes place within the central Hamilton horticultural site, positioned along the banks of the Waikato River. The event features a course that is 100% paved, making it a level surface for participants. The route begins and ends inside the manicured gardens, meandering through the various themed areas before heading out toward the river.
Participants follow the path along the undulating river banks, which are lined with native bush. The course is designed to highlight the seasonal autumn colors of the gardens. There are three distinct distances available for participants to choose from:
- 6 km with 93 m elevation gain
- 12.3 km with 130 m elevation gain
- 16.5 km with 231 m elevation gain
Access to the event venue is through Gate Two, located near the Camellia Garden. Due to high visitor numbers at the gardens during weekends, parking is available on Grey Street, which connects to the venue via an underpass. Local accommodation is available through a partnership with the Heartland Ambassador Hotel Hamilton, which offers specific rates for those staying between November 6 and 8.
