Round Hill Fell Race
Round Hill Fell Race is a fell running event over open moorland around Blubberhouses Moor. The course is approximately 8.7 miles with about 1,100 ft ascent and visits named features including Round Hill and Ellar Carr Pike. The start and finish are at Timble Village Cross Roads (Grid Ref SE170531).
Entries are on the day only with an entry fee of £5 cash. Entry is restricted to runners aged 18 years or over. Parking and registration take place in Timble Village and participants are asked to park considerately.
The route is partially marked and includes key checkpoints at several grid references. Missing checkpoints may affect the validity of a result. A small water supply is provided at Checkpoint 3; additional hydration is recommended if conditions are hot. Full FRA race kit is required, with weather determining whether items are recommended or mandatory.
Proceeds beyond race costs are donated to local charities. Since 2015 the event has donated a total of £4,755 to charities including the Yorkshires Brain Tumour Charity and Friends of the Leeds Centre for Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma.
