Rotary Bug Run 5K - Belfast, ME
The Rotary Bug Run 5K is scheduled for August 8, 2026 at the Union Street parking lot, at the intersection of Union and Miller Streets in Belfast, Maine. The event is organized by the Belfast Rotary Club.
The course is described as scenic and fairly flat with a few gentle hills. It passes through shaded neighborhoods, includes a stretch along the waterfront, and crosses the Armistice Foot Bridge over the Passagassawaukeag River. There is one water stop on the course.
Registration fees vary by date and category: $20 through August 5, $25 on race day, and $20 for active duty military. Souvenir t-shirts are guaranteed for entries received by July 25 and are available while supplies last after that date. Race-day registration and packet pick-up are offered on the morning of the event between 07:00 and 07:45 a.m.
Awards include 10 pounds of live lobsters for the overall female and male winners and medals for the top male and female in each of nine age groups from pre-teen through 80 plus. The Bug Run is one of five events in the RunBelfast 2026 race series and is sponsored in part by First National Bank, Belfast, Maine, with local municipal support listed for parks and public safety services.
