The Rosendale Runs event, organized by the Shawangunk Runners in conjunction with the Wallkill Valley Land Trust, offers a half marathon and a 6K run/walk along the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail in Rosendale, New York. The event marks the 12th running of the half marathon and is hosted near the Village of Rosendale at 750 Binnewater Road.
Distances:
- 13.1 Miles half marathon
- 3.7 Miles 6K run/walk
The course is mostly flat and about 93% on an unpaved but well-groomed section of the rail trail, with two short sections off the trail. The route crosses the historic Rosendale Trestle bridge, which sits approximately 150 feet above the Rondout Creek and spans about 900 feet. The course also passes scenic lakes and goes through a "cave" at the Williams Lake Project.
All proceeds support the Wallkill Valley Land Trust, whose mission is to improve, protect, and maintain the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail for public use. The field is capped at 300 starters. Online registration opens May 31, 2026 and closes September 30, 2026; online fees are $30 for the half marathon and $25 for the 6K. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations received by September 13. The half marathon has a cutoff time of three hours and fifteen minutes.
Refreshments, raffle prizes, a finisher's medal, and unique awards in standard 10-year age groups are included. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
