Rose Island Winter Warrior

Rose Island Winter Warrior is the final race in a four-race Winter Warrior Series held at Rose Island in Charlestown, Indiana. The trail course covers about 6.5 miles with roughly 700 ft of elevation gain and follows a looped route that uses Trail 4, a short paved connector, and Trail 3 down to the bridge into Rose Island. Runners cross the bridge, follow the loop around Rose Island, return across the bridge, and finish after the climb back up Trail 3 and a short paved approach.

The event is cupless; participants are expected to carry their own bottles, hydration packs, or cups. A staffed aid station near the finish provides snacks and a water refill station, and bottled water is available in very limited supply. Two portable restrooms will be provided near the start; there are no permanent facilities at that end of the park.

Parking is at the trail head reached via the park road; the lot holds about 50 cars and overflow parking is along the guard rail side of the road to preserve emergency access. Packet pick-up is available the day before at a local running store from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and on race day on-site prior to the event.

Awards include overall male and female placements, age-group results posted online, and a unique Rose Island Wooden Ticket for all finishers. Series awards are given to participants who complete multiple races in the series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
