Event

The Rose Island Winter Warrior is a trail running event held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, in Charlestown, IN (12500 Highway 62). The main event is a 6 Miler with a planned course distance of about 5 to 6 miles. The route crosses the old bridge onto Rose Island, passes sites of the former amusement park, and returns via wooded trails. The Start/Finish area is planned near the parking lot at trail head #4, and the course will use Trails 4, 3 and 7. All finishers receive a custom medal. Awards are given for Overall Male and Overall Female. The race is the final event in the Winter Warrior Trail Series.

Logistics

Packet pick-up is on-site at the parking lot near Trail #4. The event is cupless; participants are asked to bring their own water bottle, hydration pack, or cup. An aid station near the finish will provide snacks and a water refill station; bottled water will be available in limited supply. On-site restrooms are located near the parking lot. Shirts for the series are an optional add-on with a limited number available for sale on race day. Parking is limited and organizers request early arrival and carpooling.
