Roots Rock Run 5K (R3) : Plainfield, NJ and Virtual
Roots Rock Run 5K is presented by the City of Plainfield Division of Parks and Recreation as a public health initiative to promote community wellness and to unite participants against period poverty. The event date is June 27, 2026, and it offers both in-person and virtual participation.
In-person activities take place at Milt Campbell Field, 1322 East 3rd Street, Plainfield, New Jersey. Virtual participants may run or walk from any location and can track progress using the RaceJoy app or submit results afterward.

Registration details include free early registration through April 15. A registration fee of $20 applies for later registrations for some options, and virtual registration is available through June 27. The first 50 registrants across live and virtual options will receive a commemorative t-shirt.
A six-week training program begins April 25 and meets at Plainfield High School North Gym. Training is free, open to youth ages 8 and older, includes refreshments and music, and has an online support group. The event is supported by the GrassROOTS Community Foundation.
