Event overview
The 52nd Annual Rooster Run takes place in Newtown, CT on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The event includes the following race distances:
- 5K (in person)
- 10K (in person)
- Little Dash (ages 3 to 8)
The 5K and 10K are on certified courses. The 10K course is one small loop followed by three long loops around the paved Newtown Hills trail. Proceeds from the event benefit the Newtown Scholarship Association.
Logistics and race details
The race location is Keating Farms Ave., Newtown, CT 06470. T-shirts and bibs are available for pick up beginning Friday, June 12, at the Fairfield Hills Community Center, 8 Simpson Street; participants who register after the stated pickup cutoff will receive their race number on race day. The first 250 participants will receive a t-shirt. Registration is handled online and fees are listed per event. Race awards include top male and female finishers and age-group awards for males and females in these divisions: 12 and under; 13 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; and 70 and over.
