Rooster Run - Newtown, CT
Rooster Run is a community running event held in Newtown, Connecticut on June 13, 2026. The event includes a certified 5K and 10K road race that use loops on the Newtown Hills trails and paved paths. A children's 100 yard dash is offered for ages 3 to 8.
Distances and course notes:
- 5K: one and three quarters loops around the Newtown Hills complex.
- 10K: one short loop plus three long loops around the paved Newtown Hills trail.
- Little Dash (100 yards): for ages 3 to 8, a short children's dash.
Registration is offered online with published entry fees of $35 for the 5K and 10K and $10 for the Little Dash. T-shirt and bib pickup begins the day before the event at the Fairfield Hills Community Center, with race day pickup available for those who need it. The first 250 participants receive a t-shirt. Proceeds support the Newtown Scholarship Association.
Awards are given to top male and female finishers and to age-group divisions for male and female participants, including categories from 12 and under through 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
