Ronnie's Run Jingle Bell 5K
Ronnie's Run is a community running and walking event held at the Dorothy York Innovation Academy in Apollo Beach, Florida. Established in 2015, the event serves as a memorial to honor the lives of Ronnie and Sharon while providing a platform to address the impact of addiction and alcoholism on families. The mission of the event focuses on providing awareness, education, and resources to those struggling with these issues, emphasizing that recovery is possible.
Participants can choose between two main formats for the event:
- Ronnie's Run Jingle Bell 5K: A 3.1 mile in-person running race.
- Virtual Jingle Bell 5K: A virtual race option for those unable to attend the physical location.
The event is organized to support families and encourage recovery through a shared community experience. It aims to bring hope and strength to those affected by loss or substance use disorders. The gathering serves as a way to ensure the memory of loved ones continues to make a positive difference through community engagement and support.
