Romancing the Island Half Marathon & 10K 2027
The event takes place on April 10, 2027 at Angel Island State Park, Belvedere Tiburon, California. This is the 36th annual Romancing the Island race and is limited to 400 participants.
The course is a hilly loop that circumnavigates Angel Island. Runners pass panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, the East Bay and Marin County. The route is marked with orange ribbon where trails cross or turns are required.

- Half Marathon does the loop twice
- 10K is a single loop; hikers and walkers welcome
The event has a course cut-off time of 3.5 hours. Half Marathon runners must complete the first loop within 1 hour 30 minutes. There are no aid stations on the course; aid will be available before the second loop for Half Marathon runners, and there will be food and drink at the finish. Headphones and other audio devices are not allowed on narrow sections of trail for safety reasons.
All participants receive a T-shirt. Medals are awarded to all Half Marathon finishers. Personalized award ribbons for the top three male and female finishers in each age group will be mailed. Bib numbers are mailed starting two weeks before the event; bib pickup and distance changes are handled at the Tiburon ferry dock during athlete check-in. Athletes must use a chartered ferry from the Tiburon ferry dock to reach the race. Spectator ferry fees apply. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
