Romancing the Island Half Marathon & 10K
The event takes place on April 10, 2027 at Angel Island State Park, Belvedere Tiburon, CA. It is limited to 400 participants and offers two main distances.
- Half Marathon two loops around Angel Island
- 10K single loop around Angel Island
- Youth divisions available for both distances
The course is a hilly loop that circumnavigates Angel Island and provides panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, the East Bay, and Marin County. The 10K completes the island once; the Half Marathon completes the loop twice. Hikers and walkers are welcome to participate in the 10K. Course markings use orange ribbon at trail crossings and turns.
There are no aid stations on the course. Aid will be available before the second loop for Half Marathon runners, and food and drink will be available at the finish. Participants are advised to carry water. All Half Marathon finishers receive a medal. T-shirts are provided to all participants. Personalized award ribbons for the top three male and female finishers in each age group will be mailed after the event. Bib numbers are mailed beginning two weeks before the event; unmailed bibs may be picked up on race morning at the Tiburon ferry dock.
Athletes must use the chartered ferry from the Tiburon ferry dock to reach the race; athlete ferry fees are included in registration. Spectator ferry fees are collected at the dock. Parking in Tiburon lots is typically $5 to $20 per day. Registrations are non refundable and non transferable; refund protection must be purchased during checkout.
