Quad Dipsea - November 28, 2026
Quad Dipsea is a trail event in Mill Valley, California covering approximately 28.4 miles with about 9,000 feet of cumulative vertical. The course packs many flights of stairs and steep trail sections into a point-to-point route that reaches the coast.
The route departs from Old Mill Park and follows the Dipsea Trail down into Muir Woods, across Redwood Creek, and up through sections named Dynamite, The Hogsback, The Rainforest, and Cardiac. It then descends Steep Ravine, climbs Insult Hill, and follows The Moors with Stinson Beach visible near the coast.
Runners reach Stinson Beach, turn around, and return to Old Mill Park on the same trail. That out-and-back sequence is then repeated to complete the Quad. The event requires staying on the Dipsea Trail for the entire distance; shortcuts are not permitted.
Aid stations are positioned at Cardiac Hill, Stinson Beach, and Old Mill Park. Due to single track sections, pacers and hiking or trekking poles are not allowed. Registration opens August 1, 2026. There are no refunds, rollovers, or exchanges; a wait list is used and the entrant list is finalized by November 10. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
