Festive Family Fun Run
The Chase the Christmas Pudding Festive Family Fun Run is a seasonal event held at Parc Bryn Bach in Tredegar. Participants have the option to take part in person at the scenic lake or join virtually within their own local communities. The physical event involves completing two laps of the lake course.
This event is designed for all ages and abilities, with participants chocolate to run, jog, dance, skip, or walk while chasing a designated person dressed as a giant Christmas pudding. Festive costumes are encouraged, including Santas, elves, reindeer, and turkeys, with a prize awarded for the best fancy dress.
The course at Parc Bryn Bach is wheelchair accessible and suitable for push prams. Well-behaved dogs on leads are also permitted to attend. On-site facilities include:
- Changing facilities
- Parking
- Visitor Centre with hot and cold refreshments
- Raffle and Christmas music
Every entrant receives a Santa hat. Adult participants are provided with a hot chocolate sachet and a snack, while children receive festive treats in addition to a snack and hot chocolate. Dogs joining the event are given a bandana and a finishers treat. A special guest appearance by Santa is scheduled to start the run and spend time with participants.
For those participating virtually, evidence of a 5 km time can be submitted to compete for a fastest-time prize. The event raises funds for Hospice of the Valleys, and participants who reach a specific sponsorship threshold are entered into a prize draw for a Christmas hamper.
