About the race
Roly's Run is a trail running event in the Meon Valley, Hampshire, scheduled for 15 November 2026. The route is primarily circular and passes local high points including Beacon Hill and Old Winchester Hill. The course is about 80% trail with notable climbing and sections that can be tricky underfoot when wet, for example loose stones, tree roots and slippery chalk descents.
There are three route options:
- 15 miles (25.4 km), 468 m climb, 3 checkpoints
- 20 miles (35.3 km), 677 m climb, 5 checkpoints
- 40 miles (65.18 km), 1310 m climb, 9 checkpoints, 10 hour cut-off
Walkers may take the 15 or 20 mile routes. The event is run under UKA rules, capped at 300 participants across all routes, and dogs are not permitted on the course. Minimum ages apply for each distance.
Run HQ is at Swanmore Village Hall (SO32 2PF); the start and finish are on New Road cricket field nearby. Race numbers include RFID timing tags and are collected at event HQ on the day. The course will be waymarked and supported by marshals and staffed checkpoints offering drinks and food, including vegan and dairy-free options. GPX files are provided for the routes; participants are advised to familiarise themselves with the course and carry suitable kit such as a charged mobile phone, head-torch and weather-appropriate clothing. Finishers receive a small rock memento. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
