About the race
Roly's Run is a trail running event in the Meon Valley, Hampshire, held on 15 November 2026 with routes that use local hills including Beacon Hill and Old Winchester Hill. The course is primarily trail (about 80 percent), includes notable climbing, and can be tricky underfoot in wet conditions because of loose stones, tree roots and slippery chalk descents.
There are three route options:
- 15 miles, 25.4 km, 468 m climb, 3 checkpoints, walkers welcome
- 20 miles, 35.3 km, 677 m climb, 5 checkpoints, walkers welcome
- 40 miles, 65.18 km, 1310 m climb, 9 checkpoints
Run HQ is at Swanmore Village Hall and the start and finish are on New Road cricket field, about 200 m from the hall. The event is limited to 300 participants across all routes. Age limits apply: 17+ for the 15 mile, 18+ for the 20 mile, and 20+ for the 40 mile.
Race numbers include RFID timing tags and are collected at registration. Checkpoints on the routes provide a mix of cold and hot drinks, food (including vegan and dairy-free options at many locations) and toilets; participants are encouraged to carry their own water and familiarise themselves with GPX files supplied by the organisers. Mandatory equipment listed by the organisers includes a charged mobile phone, a head-torch if likely to be out after dark, and a visible race number. Every participant receives a small rock memento.
