US Road Running - Centennial Hill
The US Road Running event in Montgomery, Alabama, offers a series of road races held at a park location. Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
The competition uses specific out-and-back course layouts. For the 5K and 10K distances, runners follow a 0.78-mile course, resulting in a 1.56-mile round trip. The 5K participants complete this loop twice, while the 10K participants complete it four times. The Half Marathon utilizes a different course measuring 1.09 miles, making for a 2.18-mile out-and-back circuit that must be completed six times.
All participants have a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes to finish their respective races. Registration is conducted exclusively online before the event, as there is no option for on-site registration. Packet pickup is available at the race location shortly before the start.
The event features a best costume award, though wearing a costume is not required. All finishers receive a medal for their participation. The races are part of a larger series where runners can earn points toward a seasonal ranking. Parking is located in the large center lot of the park or the Scenic Open Space area.
