Rodney Richardson Water Run
The Rodney Richardson Water Run is the fourth annual water themed running event held in Downtown Hattiesburg, finishing at Town Square Park. The routes pass through the Historic neighborhood and include water features such as super soakers along the course and a finish line spray from the Hattiesburg Fire Department.
Two distance options are offered:
- 3.1 Miles 5K Run
- 1 Mile 1 Mile Fun Run
Early registration was open from March 5, 2026 to May 30, 2026, with same day registration available. Registration fees listed for the events were $35 for the 5K and $20 for the 1 Mile. Runners who register after August 7 were not guaranteed a t-shirt.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, September 25 at RARE Design, 127 Buschman Street, and on race morning at Town Square Park. The event location is listed as 100 Main Street, Hattiesburg, MS 39401.
Proceeds from the event benefit Ddembe Ministries, a ministry supporting orphans, widows, and families in Jinja, Uganda. Participants may register as charity runners to raise funds and awareness for that ministry.
Awards for the 5K include overall male and female and top male and female in each age group. The top finisher overall in the 1 Mile receives an award. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
