Day of the Dead Half Marathon - Fort Worth
This event takes place at Marine Creek Lake in Fort Worth on October 18, 2026. It includes multiple in-person race distances, a virtual option, pre-race costume judging, race awards, and on-course support.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash - 20 yards, for children 10 and under, not timed.
- 1 Mile - 1 mile, not chip timed.
- 5K - 3.11 miles, chip timed with overall trophies and age group awards.
- Quarter Marathon - 6.55 miles, chip timed with overall Bigfoot trophies and age group awards.
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles, chip timed with overall Bigfoot trophies and age group awards.
- Volunteer then Run - 3.11 miles option for volunteers with a timed bib and finisher medal.
- Virtual Run - 13.1 miles, virtual participation option.
Course and on-course services are described as park and green belt settings with mixed surfaces including pavement, crushed granite, and some dirt paths. Aid stations on the course provide water and assistance. Packet pickup is offered 1.5 hours before the event start, and shirt availability is guaranteed up to 10 days before the event.
The event includes a pre-race costume contest judged for creativity and authenticity, a post-race rally tent with live music and a DJ, Mexican food and drinks, medals and shirts for participants, and live awards at the registration tent after finishing. Race policies note youth pricing for 5K and quarter marathon entrants 12 and under, referral and group discounts, and a no-refund policy for events that proceed rain or shine.
