Day of the Dead Half Marathon - Fort Worth
The Day of the Dead Half Marathon takes place at Marine Creek Lake in Fort Worth, Texas. The event uses park and green belt trails and passes lakes and wooded sections. Mixed course surfaces should be expected, including pavement, crushed granite and some dirt paths.
The event offers multiple distances:
- Kids Dash - about 20 yards, designed for ages 10 and under.
- 1 Mile - one mile run, untimed, includes tee shirt and medal.
- 5K - 3.11 miles, chip timed, age-group awards and overall trophies.
- Quarter Marathon - 6.55 miles, chip timed, overall Bigfoot trophies and awards.
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles, chip timed, overall Bigfoot trophies and age-group awards.
- Volunteer then Run - 3.11 miles, custom chip timed bib and finisher medal.
- Virtual Run - 13.1 miles, virtual option.
Aid stations on course provide water and basic assistance. Results and awards are available at the registration tent immediately after finish. Awards include first overall trophies, masters recognition pins and age-group pins across standard categories. A pre race costume contest is held at the starting area; judges select a winner for the Day of the Dead Best Costume Award and a prize package.
Packet pickup is offered for 1.5 hours before the event. Shirt size guarantee ends 10 days before the event. Youth pricing, referral refunds, and group discounts are listed for specific entries.
