Summer Meltdown Half Marathon - Fort Worth
The event takes place at Farrington Field, 1501 University Dr, Fort Worth, TX. Multiple race options and volunteer roles are offered on the event day. Aid stations with water and on-course assistance are provided. A DJ will provide music and announcements, and awards are presented for winners at the finish area. Post-race refreshments and Kona Ice are available.
Race distances offered:
- Kids Dash - about 20 yards for ages 10 and under, not timed.
- 1 Mile - one mile event, not chip timed, includes tee shirt and medal.
- 5K - 3.11 miles, chip timed, overall trophies and age group awards.
- Quarter Marathon - 6.55 miles, chip timed, overall trophies and age group awards.
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles, chip timed, overall trophies and age group awards.
- Virtual Run - 13.1 miles, virtual participation option.
Awards and recognition include overall trophies for male and female winners, special recognition pins for masters (40+), and age group pins for standard age brackets. Shirt guarantee is ten days before the event; packet pickup is offered starting 1.5 hours before the event. Courses use parks and green belts and may include paved trails, crushed granite, and dirt paths.
Volunteer roles include course monitor, aid station, packet pickup, finish line helper, lead bike, turtle/sweeper, mascot, and others. Volunteers check in at the registration tent 1.5 hours before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
