Event overview
The Heroes and Villains - Dallas is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Sam Houston Trail Park in Irving, TX. Race distances and awards
- Kids Dash - 50-meter untimed dash, ages 10 and under.
- 1 Mile - untimed fun run.
- 5K (3.11 miles) - chip timed.
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles) - chip timed.
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) - chip timed.
- Volunteer then Run (5K) - volunteer role plus chip-timed 5K; limited to first 5 sign-ups.
- Virtual Run - remote participation option.
All finishers in every distance receive a medal and a shirt. Standard awards for 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon include a Bigfoot Trophy for 1st overall male and female, a recognition pin for 1st masters (40+), and Gold/Silver/Bronze pins for top three in each age group. Age groups range from 10 & under through 70+.
Course and logistics
Courses use local park and greenbelt trails with mixed surfaces - mostly paved with some crushed granite and dirt. Aid stations are provided along the course. Events occur in public spaces where park users may be present. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
