Rockville 10K/5K
The City of Rockville and the Montgomery County Road Runners Club organize this annual autumn running event. The races take place on the public streets within the King Farm community in Maryland. The event offers three distinct distances for participants:
- 10K Race (6.2 miles)
- 5K Race (3.1 miles)
- Kids' 1-Mile Fun Run (1 mile)
The courses utilize neighborhood roads, which are closed to vehicle traffic during the event. Because of permitting requirements and the scheduled reopening of these roads, all participants must maintain a minimum pace of 15:00 minutes per mile. Those who fall behind this pace are required to move to the sidewalk for safety. Due to these time restrictions, organizers recommend that walkers participate in the 5K distance only.
The event permits the use of strollers during the races. To ensure safety and a smooth flow, individuals pushing strollers are requested to position themselves at the back of the starting group. Pets and dogs are not allowed on the courses.
The venue includes a designated area for bag check and a centralized location for packet pickup at the King Farm Village Center. Registration for the adult distances concludes several weeks before the event date, while registration for the children's run remains open until the morning of the race.
