Event Overview
The Rockingham Sprint Triathlon is a multi-sport event organized by the Rockingham Triathlon Club. The competition takes place at the Alexander Street carpark on Rockingham Beach Road along the Rockingham foreshore. - Sprint Distance: A 750 m swim (1 lap), 20 km bike (6 laps), and 5 km run (3 laps).
- Enticer: A 150 m swim (1 lap), 10 km bike (3 laps), and 1.7 km run (1 lap).
- Duathlon: A 1.7 km run (1 lap), 20 km bike (6 laps), and 5 km run (3 laps).
- AquaBike: A 750 m swim (1 lap) and 20 km bike (6 laps), finishing with a short walk or run to the finish line.
- Kids Triathlon: Various distances available for younger participants.
Course Details
The swim leg is held in the shallow, flat waters of Rockingham Beach, where participants can stand at any point if necessary. The bike course consists of multiple laps on the flat and fast Rockingham Beach Road. The run takes place on the foreshore footpath, featuring natural bush surrounds and views of the ocean. The run course remains open to the public during the event.
Facilities and Logistics
A transition area is located at the Alexander Street carpark. One hydration station providing water is positioned on the run course near the transition area; however, there are no aid stations on the bike course. The recovery area at the finish line provides water and bananas for participants. First aid is available under the main shelter in the event area.
