Rocket City Microthon
Rocket City Microthon is a family-friendly fundraising event that spoofs a traditional road race. It takes place on September 27, 2026, on the Butler Green at Campus 805 in downtown Huntsville, 2620 Clinton Avenue, Huntsville, AL 35801. The event course measures 383 feet (0.12K).
Participants wear numbered bibs and race across the short Butler Green route between Straight to Ale and Yellowhammer Brewery, or in the reverse direction. The organizer describes the event as informal and playful while keeping the basic elements of a road race.
Three registration packages are offered. The Runners Package includes a t-shirt, a ticket to use at a Campus 805 brewery, a Finisher's Medal (also described as a bottle opener) and an oval "0.12K" sticker; the Slacker's Package provides the event swag without racing and includes the Finisher's Medal; the Kid's Package provides a youth-size t-shirt, the Finisher's Medal, and a unique kids' sticker. Registration opens February 23, 2026 and closes September 26, 2026. Fees listed are $30 for the Runners Package, $50 for the Slacker's Package, and $20 for the Kid's Package.
