Rock the Block 2026
Rock the Block is an annual community event hosted by the Shine Bright Foundation in Asheboro, North Carolina. It takes place on October 17, 2026 at 135 Sunset Ave, Asheboro, NC 27203. The event includes a road running race of 5K distance.
Registration opens April 20, 2026 and closes September 1, 2026. Early registration fee is $30; regular registration is $35 after September 1. Entries submitted by September 1 are guaranteed an official race T-shirt.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to top finishers in the following age groups: 10 and under; 11 to 14; 15 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; 70 and over.
A community gathering follows the race featuring food truck vendors, community vendors, music provided by a live DJ, raffle prizes, and a bounce house for children. The event aims to support individuals with Down Syndrome and Autism and to promote awareness and inclusiveness within the community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
