Rock-It Run : July 4th event in Castle Rock, CO
The Rock-It Run is a July 4th running event held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Castle Rock, Colorado, with a virtual participation option. The event includes an in-person 5k, a half marathon with a relay option, and a free 1K Little Rock-It Run for children age eight and under. The course surfaces for the half marathon and 5k are primarily concrete.
The half marathon can be run solo or by relay teams of up to three people. Relay teams share a single race bib attached to a provided waistband and exchange at a designated trailhead; parking at the exchange point is limited and teams are responsible for coordinating exchanges. Leg distances for the relay were recalculated due to a trail washout and are listed for the current route.
Event features include a mixed indoor and outdoor Back to Health Expo with vendors, live bands and course music, finisher medals, and tri-blend racerback t-shirts for women. Prizes are offered for the top three overall male and female finishers in the solo half marathon with specified award amounts. Participants receive one free smoked brat and one complimentary alcoholic beverage with ID. Volunteer roles include a complimentary t-shirt, food and beverage, and a race entry to another event in the series.
