July 4th Rock-It Run
The Rock-It Run is an annual athletic event held on Independence Day at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Castle Rock, Colorado. The event serves as a fundraiser to support veterans and first responders through organizations focused on mental wellness and PTSD awareness. Participants can choose between in person attendance or a virtual option that allows for participation from any location.
The event features several race categories:
- Half Marathon
- Half Marathon Relay
- 5k
- 1k Little Rock-It Run
The Half Marathon can be completed as a solo runner or as a relay team of up to three people. The route is primarily on concrete and includes a lap on the Castle View High School track. For relay participants, the course is divided into three segments measuring 4.6 miles, 4.7 miles, and 3.8 miles. The 5k follows a loop route, while the 1k Little Rock-It Run is a free event specifically for children aged 8 years and under.
Registered participants receive a tri-blend t-shirt or racerback, a finisher medal, and a coupon for a smoked brat and one beverage. The venue hosts a Back to Health Expo with various health and wellness vendors, along with live music on the course and a post-race concert. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers in the solo half marathon, with additional awards for top age category winners in both the 5k and the Half Marathon.
