Turkey ROCK Trot
The Plum Creek Church 22nd Annual Turkey ROCK Trot presented by CORE is a Thanksgiving morning community running event in Castle Rock, Colorado at the Douglas County Event Center, 500 Fairgrounds Drive. The event features a family-oriented 5K run/walk/stroll and a free 1K Kid’s Dash sponsored by PR Youth Running. Proceeds benefit the Help & Hope Center, which provides assistance to neighbors in Douglas and Elbert counties facing economic need or housing risk.
The event includes an indoor Health and Wellness Expo with more than 30 vendors, one free food item per participant, free children’s activities such as face painting, balloon twisting, and a bounce house, and beverage options including one complimentary beer for participants aged 21 and over. A live DJ will operate at the start line and there will be live music on the course.
Start waves are assigned by anticipated pace for participant safety; attendees may move to a slower wave but not a faster one, and official time begins when a participant crosses the timing mats. Award categories include top overall male and female finishers, age group awards, and a fastest team of four. Parking at the Event Center is free but limited. Organizers request participants bring toiletry donations to support the Help & Hope Center. Advance packet pick-up is available at local locations in Castle Rock prior to the event.
