Parker Parks and Recreation Turkey Day 5K
The Parker Parks and Recreation Turkey Day event is a community fun run and walk held on Thanksgiving at the Parker Recreation Center in Parker, Colorado. It is part of the Parks and Recreation Run Series and is presented as a family friendly, laid back trot. The event is not officially timed.
Standard registration is listed at $38, with registration fee increases on November 12 and November 26; event day registration is available for an additional $5 if space remains. Registrants receive a free commemorative shirt when registered by November 1 to guarantee size. The first 500 registrants who opt in may receive a commemorative Finisher Medal. Participants also receive a souvenir race bib and access to hot cocoa, cider or coffee. Previous year commemorative items such as socks, a scarf, a beanie and gloves are offered for purchase as add ons.
The course is a loop that begins and finishes at the Parker Recreation Center, proceeds west on Recreation Drive (closed road), north on Jordan Road (closed lane), east on the E 470 Trail, and south on the Cherry Creek Regional Trail back to the Recreation Center. The event is held rain, snow or shine and refunds are not issued. Strollers are welcome; dogs, bikes and scooters are asked to remain at home for safety. Parking is limited.
