Robert Tucker Run 5K
The Robert Tucker Run 5K is a commemorative community event held in Kannapolis, North Carolina. The event serves as a tribute to the legacy of Robert Tucker, a local athlete and founder of Shoe Show, Inc. It is one of eight races that comprise the Run Kannapolis Race Series.
The event offers several ways to participate:
- 5 km (Run or Walk)
- 5 km (Dog Entry)
- Sleep-In Supporter (Non-running option)
Participants may register their dogs to join them on the course. Children aged 8 and under are permitted to walk with a parent without official registration, though a waiver must be signed on-site. The standard 5 km route is centered around the downtown area, with packet pickup located at Half-Moon Outfitters on West Avenue.
Each participant receives a medal upon completing the course. Recognition is awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as winners in age categories ranging from 19 and under up to 60 and over. Proceeds from the race are donated to The Community Free Clinic, which provides medical services and medications to uninsured adults in Cabarrus County.
