Riverfront East Hartford 5 Mile
The Riverfront East Hartford 5 Mile is a Thursday evening road race held on August 27, 2026, that follows an entirely different riverfront course in East Hartford. The finish area is on the great lawn at Goodwin University along the river.
Each participant receives a pair of custom designed technical socks and a mini mac attack provided by Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ. Post race beverage service includes craft beer from New England Brewing Company available to participants 21 and older with proper ID. The event is the August leg of the Riverfront Summer Series, a trio of Thursday evening races that take place over the summer.

- Hartford Riverfront 5K in June
- Redesigned Riverfront 4 Mile in July
- Riverfront 5 Mile in East Hartford in August
Series finishers receive a lightweight custom long sleeve tee. The event names HMF’s Susie Beris, MD Youth Running Program as its charity beneficiary. The Hartford Marathon Foundation notes a new membership program in 2026 called HMF Milestone, which offers member perks and an optional enhanced Milestone+ tier with additional benefits such as specialty apparel and a Mail My Packet service at select events.
