Riverfront East Hartford 5 Mile
The Riverfront East Hartford 5 Mile is an evening five mile road race held in East Hartford on Thursday, August 27, 2026. The course follows a riverfront route that differs from the Hartford races in the same series and serves as the August event in the Riverfront Summer Series.
The Riverfront Summer Series is a trio of Thursday evening races: Hartford’s Riverfront 5K in June, a redesigned Riverfront 4 Mile in July, and this Riverfront 5 Mile in August. Series finishers receive a lightweight custom long sleeve tee.
Each race participant receives a pair of custom technical socks and a food item described as a mini mac attack from Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ. Finishers 21 and older may have a craft beer from New England Brewing Company on the great lawn at Goodwin University with valid ID.
The event names HMF’s Susie Beris MD Youth Running Program as its charity beneficiary. The race is produced by the Hartford Marathon Foundation, a nonprofit organization that organizes multiple road races and running events across the region.
