Event Overview
The River Road Marathon & Half Marathon takes place on the outskirts of Bozeman, Montana. The event offers two distinct distances through a landscape of scenic gravel roads. Participants run along the Gallatin River on a course that overlooks the Gallatin Mountain range, heading south towards Yellowstone National Park.
Available event distances include:
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
Course Details
Both distances follow an out and back route. The course is marked with pink flags to guide runners along the gravel roads. The terrain is characterized by relatively low elevation changes. The half marathon features a total elevation gain of 295 feet, while the full marathon includes 590 feet of gain.
To support participants during the event, three aid stations are located along the route. These stations provide snacks and drinks to assist with fueling and hydration.
