The course used marked backcountry loops on over 160 acres at the base of the Allegheny Mountains near George Washington National Forest. The loop length reported was 1.4 miles and included rugged single-track, steep elevations, water crossings, mud, and obstacle zones. Participants were to carry weighted loads or rucks and complete tasks such as push, pull, carry, climb, crawl, and drag. The program included structured challenge zones, sandbag evolutions, mental and memory tests under stress, leadership and communication drills, and guided debriefs.
Staff were described as experienced cadre, coaches, and tactical and endurance professionals. Basic aid stations were to offer water, electrolytes, and fruit; participants were expected to bring personal nutrition and medical supplies. Packet pickup was planned the day before at a Giant Food Store in Pantops, Charlottesville, and onsite check-in was planned for race day. Refund and credit policies varied by timing relative to the event date.
