Celebrate History in Seneca Falls

The Right to Run is a running event held in Seneca Falls, New York, to commemorate women's suffrage and the passing of the 19th amendment. The event honors the historical significance of the 1848 Seneca Falls Convention and takes participants through a town noted for its rich history and landmarks.

The event offers the following race distances:

  • 5K (In Person)
  • 5K (Virtual)
  • 19K (Virtual)

The 5K course is USATF certified for accuracy and is open to runners and walkers. The course has a time limit of one hour, requiring a pace of 20 minutes per mile or faster. The start and finish lines are located at the Home of the National Women's Hall of Fame. For those unable to attend in person, virtual options for the 5K and 19K distances allow participation from any location in the United States between May 9 and May 31, 2026.

All participants who finish the race receive a medal at the finish line. Those who register by April 18 receive a race t-shirt in either a men's or women's fit. Awards are provided to the top three overall male and female finishers in the in-person 5K, as well as the top three finishers in various age categories ranging from 19 and under to 70 and over.

The organizers also host a sports bra drive during packet pickup and on race day to support athletes by removing barriers to participation. Parking is available at several locations within one mile of the starting line, including the Seneca Falls Community Center and Generations Bank. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
