Rigby Lake Turkey Trot
The Rigby Lake Turkey Trot is a community 5K held at Rigby Lake, also known as Jefferson County Lake, on Thanksgiving Day. The run is untimed and there will be no official results. Registration is requested and there is no monetary registration fee; the event asks each participant to bring one can of food for donation to The Giving Cupboard. Cash donations will also be accepted onsite to support the food pantry.
The meeting area is the West Parking Lot. The course begins at the West Pavilion and finishes in the Southeast Parking Lot. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash at all times. Organizers note that temperatures may be chilly, so participants should dress for cool weather.
The event is presented by Mountain Wave Swimming and Jefferson County Lake to benefit The Giving Cupboard. The focus is community participation and food donation rather than competition or timed results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
