2026 Richmond Fireworks 5k & 10k
The event takes place on July 5, 2026 at Rocketts Landing in Richmond, Virginia, along the Virginia Capital Trail next to the James River. Distances offered:

Points from the races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series, and toward the Summer Series. The event benefits the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation. A virtual race option is available.
Course, amenities and logistics
The course is paved and flat, laid out as a 5k out-and-back; the 10k is two laps of that route. Water stations are located near the turnaround points at approximately mile markers 1.55, 3.1, 4.56 and 6.2; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Port-a-johns are located in the parking lot near the start/finish. The event is chip timed and finishers receive a medal and a technical (drifit) event shirt.
Registration fees are listed as: 5k $30 until June 15 (then $35) and 10k $45 until June 15 (then $50); prices increase by $5 on race morning. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before June 24. Packet pickup is available at the event; race day registration is offered but shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for race-day registrants. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Awards are given to the top 3 men and women overall and top age-group finishers; top 3 overall are not eligible for age-group awards. Parking is near Rocketts Landing (GPS 37.521065, -77.416715).
