Event details
The Richmond Fireworks 5k & 10k takes place on July 5, 2026 at Rocketts Landing in Richmond, Virginia. The event is organized by Bishops Events and benefits the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation. Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Summer Series. A virtual race option is offered for those who cannot attend in person.

Course and logistics
The course is paved and flat along the Virginia Capital Trail with views of the James River. The 10k is two laps of the 5k out-and-back route. Water stations are located at approximately mile markers 1.55, 3.1, 4.56, and 6.2; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Port-a-johns are available in the parking lot near the start/finish. Parking is located near Rocketts Landing; the organizer provides GPS coordinates for the meeting area.
Registration, timing, and awards
The event is chip timed. Registered participants receive a finisher medal and a technical (Drifit) event shirt; shirts are guaranteed for entries completed before June 24. Published registration fees are $30 for the 5k and $45 for the 10k until June 15, after which listed rates increase; prices increase further on race morning. Live results are posted during the event and final results with series points are posted the following Monday. Awards include top three men and women overall and first and second place in standard age groups; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards.
