Course and Distances
The race takes place on July 5th, 2026 along the Virginia Capital Trail at Rocketts Landing. The course is paved and flat. The event offers two distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The 10 km distance consists of two laps of the 5 km out-and-back route.
Event Details
Registration fees increase after June 15th. Race day registration is available, with an additional price increase. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before June 24th.
All participants receive a finisher medal and a technical event shirt. The event is chip-timed. There is also a virtual run option.
The race benefits the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation.
Logistics
Water stations are available along the route. For the 10 km, they are at approximately mile markers 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65. For the 5 km, there is one station at approximately mile marker 1.55. Gatorade will be available at some stations.
Portable restrooms are located in the parking lot near the start/finish line. Parking is located near Rocketts Landing along Water Street, using GPS coordinates.
Packet pickup is available at the event. The event operates in all weather conditions unless cancellation is announced.
Awards and Series
Awards are given to the top 3 overall male and female finishers. Age group awards are also given for 1st and 2nd place in categories from 19 & Under to 70+. Top 3 overall finishers are not eligible for age group awards.
Race points contribute to the organizer's Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series, as well as the Summer Series. The "Back of the Pack" is a series for participants with paces above a specified time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
